Help Pls... got a crying hedgehog
Just on my way back from the pub, and this poor little bugger was in the middle of the road, crying like a scalded duck. Not a big hedgehog, twice-tennis ball sized, tops.
I've wrapped him in my coat (more crying), and put him in a box with a towel in a warm utility room.
I really have no idea what to do next. How to tell if he/she's hurt, tried calling the PDSA, RSPCA etc, no reply at this time of night. Now Barry (as I've decided he's called) is apparently happily curled up in the box, and the cat has been restrained. Any help or pointers would be great.

Re: Help Pls... got a crying hedgehog
Hi Steve,
Sorry to read about the hedgehog you found. It sounds like he had been hit by a car and if 'crying' was in severe distress. I have only just read your posting. Please, if you have another emergency in the future please ring instead of going through the forum as it will be quicker. I have been very busy with lots of rescued babies and have had little time to monitor the messages on the forum daily.
